Defence Ministry Pledges Continued Care for Veterans
and Fallen Heroes’ Families

The Ministry of Defence today (Jul 09) reiterated its steadfast commitment to the welfare of war veterans and the families of fallen heroes during its Public Day program held at the Ministry premises. The event, conducted under the patronage of Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd.), underscored the Ministry's on-going dedication to supporting those who have selflessly served the nation and their loved ones.

The initiative was primarily focused on addressing the needs and concerns of retired and disabled veterans, as well as the families of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The Defence Secretary personally engaged with the participants, providing a patient ear to their concerns and instructing ministry officials to ensure the prompt resolution of issues raised. He also emphasized the importance of expediting welfare programs to enhance the quality of life for veterans and bereaved families.

Through this program, the Ministry of Defence once again demonstrated its unwavering resolve to honour and care for the nation’s heroes and their families, recognising their invaluable contribution to preserving peace and security.
