Defence Secretary Pays Final Respects to the Late Most Ven. Anamaduwa

The final rites of the Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Thero, the Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect, were conducted with state sponsorship yesterday (Jul 24) at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy.
Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) participated in the funeral proceedings, signifying the deep respect and national recognition accorded to Venerable Dhammadassi Thero’s lifelong service to the Sasana and the nation.
Later, the Defence Secretary paid a courtesy call on the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayake Thero, the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect. Tri-Forces Commanders also joined the Defence Secretary on these occasions.
