Public Day Focuses on Welfare of Retired, Injured, and Fallen War Heroes’ Families
July 30, 2025The third session of the Public Day initiative aimed at addressing the concerns of retired, injured, and martyred war heroes and their families was held today (30 July) at the office of the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) in Colombo.
This programme is dedicated to identifying and resolving the challenges faced by the families of war heroes and those who made the supreme sacrifice. The Deputy Minister personally engaged with the attendees, reviewed their concerns, and issued directives to relevant officials to take immediate action in resolving administrative issues and accelerating the delivery of welfare initiatives.
The programme underscores the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of war heroes and their families. It also reaffirms the Ministry of Defence’s deep appreciation for the invaluable service and sacrifices made by members of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation.
