Deputy Minister of Defence Visits Army Hospital Narahenpita
September 09, 2025Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), paid an official visit to the Army Hospital at Narahenpita recently (Sep 3). Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo.
The visit underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services provided to military personnel, veterans and their families. A special discussion was held during the visit, centering on the hospital’s present status, its long-term vision and key objectives in advancing medical facilities and services.
The Director of the Army Hospital Brigadier Sanjeewa Dodangoda delivered a comprehensive briefing that highlighted the hospital’s ongoing initiatives, current operational capabilities and plans for future expansion to meet emerging healthcare demands.
The Deputy Minister commended the hospital’s dedicated staff and acknowledged their vital role in ensuring the well-being of members of the armed forces. He also stressed the importance of continuous improvement in healthcare infrastructure, medical technology and professional training to maintain high standards of service delivery.
