Defence Secretary Graces Traditional Commissioning
Ball after Commissioning Ceremony

The traditional Commissioning Ball for the newly Commissioned Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) was held with the graceful attendance of the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), as the chief guest, at the SLAF Academy China Bay, Trincomalee last evening of (18 October).
The ceremony was held to welcome the newest group of officers entering national service. The event took place with military precision and ceremonial splendour, culminating in an evening of sharing comeraderie.
The Defence Secretary was warmly welcomed by the Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.
A highlight of the evening was the awarding of the prestigious Sword of Honour Trophy, presented in recognition of exceptional leadership and performance among the new Officers.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, Senior SLAF Officers and newly Commissioned Officers were present at the occasion.
