Deputy Minister of Defence looks into the needs of War Veterans and their Families
November 04, 2025Under the Public Day initiative, dedicated to addressing the welfare concerns of retired, injured, and fallen war heroes and their families, two more sessions were held on 3 November in Colombo and in Kegalle during the weekend.
The programmes, chaired by Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), continued the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to provide direct assistance and solutions to the families of war heroes. The Deputy Minister personally met with attendees, listened to their issues, and instructed relevant officials to take prompt measures to resolve administrative and welfare-related concerns.
These Public Day sessions highlight the Ministry of Defence’s sustained commitment to safeguarding the well-being and dignity of war heroes and their families. The initiative also reflects the Ministry’s deep gratitude for the selfless service and sacrifices rendered by members of the armed forces in defending the nation.
