MOD Seva Vanitha Unit Supports Rural Schools with Donations and Library Renovation
November 13, 2025The Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) continued its community welfare efforts with two education-focused programmes in the Anuradhapura district today (13 November).
A school equipment and book distribution was held at Rathmalwetiya Primary School, Galenbindunuwewa, under the patronage of MOD SVU President Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera. The programme provided essential school supplies to many deserving students. Additional Secretary (Civil Security and Development) Mrs. Indika Wijegunawardana, senior MOD officials, and education deparment representatives also attended the event.
Later, President of SVU MOD Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera visited Matabuwa, Palugollagama Vidyalaya to inspect the library renovation project, carried out with the support of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
These initiatives highlight the MOD SVU’s ongoing commitment to improving education and supporting students in rural communities.
