Deputy Minister and Defence Secretary visit Indian Navy’s
Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant

Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) attended a reception on board the Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant at the Colombo Harbour today (26 November).
Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr Nalinda Jayatissa graced the ceremony as the chief guest. The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, H.E. Santosh Jha and the Commanding Officer of the vessel, Captain Askok Rao received the distinguished invitees.
Subsequently, the Commanding Officer gave an introduction of the ship to the guests and later accompanied them on a tour of the ship.
This indigenous Indian vessel arrived in Sri Lanka to join the SL Navy’s International Fleet Review 2025 scheduled to be held on Sunday (30 November).
Hon. Minister of Trade Wasantha Samarasinghe, tri forces commanders, Indian High Commission officials and senior tri forces officers were also present at the occasion.
