SVU of MOD Hands Over Received Medical Aid to Base Hospital Kantale
December 13, 2025A stock of aid received by the Ministry of Defence was formally handed over to Base Hospital Kantale on 13 December.
The donated items included ICU beds, wheelchairs, baby cots and crutches, which will enhance critical care, patient mobility and paediatric services at the hospital.
The President of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, symbolically handed over the items to Dr. D.M.A.V.R. Munasinghe, Medical Officer – Planning, and Dr. Geethanjali Jayathilaka De Silva, Consultant Paediatrician of the hospital.
This initiative reflects the Ministry of Defence’s continued commitment to supporting communities through focused and meaningful assistance.
Officials from the Ministry of Defence and staff of Base Hospital Kantale were also present at the event.
