MoD Seva Vanitha Unit Donates ICU Bed to Nikaweratiya Base Hospital
January 16, 2026Under the coordination of the President of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit (MoD SVU), Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, an ICU bed was donated to the Base Hospital, Nikaweratiya, today (16 January), with the objective of strengthening critical care facilities and enhancing patient care in the region.
The symbolic handover took place during a brief ceremony held at the hospital premises, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Defence and hospital officials.
This donation reflects the continued commitment of the MoD Seva Vanitha Unit to support the national healthcare system and underscores the strong cooperation and synergy between the defence and health sectors in serving the public.
