A donation for Anuradhapura Central College has been officially presented to the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit
February 25, 2026The official handing over of an essential donation for Anuradhapura Central College to the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence took place today (Feb 25) at the Ministry of Defence premises.
The donation was handed over to the President of the MOD Seva Vanitha Unit, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, by Mr. Rohan Fernando, Chairman of Trade Promoters Pvt Ltd, and Mr. Noel Joseph, Chairman of ‘Pride of Thurstan’.
Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) was also present at the occasion.
Dr. (Mrs.) Perera expressed her gratitude to the donors for their timely assistance, noting that such contributions significantly bolster the MOD SVU’s ongoing efforts to provide educational assistance and empower the younger generation.
These essential items are scheduled to be handed over to Anuradhapura Central College in the near future, ensuring they are provided with the necessary resources for the current academic year.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and members of the Seva Vanitha Unit were also present at the occasion.
