Army troops repaired a split in Omanthai Marailluppaikulam tank
March 29, 2021Demonstrating all time readiness of the troops for the benefit of the community, the Sri Lanka Army troops swiftly attended to stop a water leakage in the Marailluppaikulam tank bund at Illeimaradankulam in Omanthai recently.
The troops of 21 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the directions of Security Force Wanni Commander engaged in urgent repairs.
Civilians also supported the troops in the cause with the necessary mediation of Vavuniya District Secretary and respective Irrigation Department officials.
The tank provides water to more than 96 acres of paddy fields and a large patch of vegetable cultivation.
