Army disinfects public places in Vavuniya
April 30, 2021Sri Lanka Army troops of the 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment sterilized the public places in Vavuniya township recently to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Accordingly, the bus stands, railway station, welfare centres, banks, markets, areas of public assembly and three-wheeler parks were also disinfected.
The programme was in place on the directives of Commander Security Forces-Wanni, Maj. Gen. Hemantha Bandara and the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Maj. Gen. Nandana Dunuwila.
Vavuniya Public Health Inspectors and urban council officials in the area also contributed to the project.
